In a heartwarming ceremony that highlighted the value of education and community leadership, the Chinderi D/A Junior High School, in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service (GES) – Krachi Nchumuru District, honoured Nana Okoegye II for his remarkable contributions towards promoting education in Chinderi, particularly the education of girls.
Nana Okoegye II, the Ankoabeahene of Bejsmse Traditional Area and the respected Chief of Chinderi, has over the years become a pillar of educational development in the district. His tireless efforts in advocating for school enrolment, especially for girls, have earned him the admiration of not just his community but also education stakeholders in the region.
The recognition ceremony, which brought together teachers, students, education officials, traditional leaders, and community members, celebrated Nana Okoegye’s commitment to breaking barriers that hinder girls from accessing quality education. His initiatives, including community sensitization, provision of school materials, and support for infrastructure, have led to a noticeable increase in school attendance and academic performance among girls in the area.
The District Director of Education, in his address, praised Nana Okoegye for being a visionary leader who understands the transformative power of education. He emphasized that the future of the community lies in empowering its youth, especially girls, through access to learning opportunities and role models like Nana Okoegye.
In his remarks, Nana Okoegye II expressed gratitude for the honour and reaffirmed his dedication to ensuring that no child, especially no girl, is left behind in education.
