Veteran Kumawood actor Paa George who has been on TV screens has revealed a heartbreaking part of his life story that many people may not know, the actor says he has been living in a rented room in Accra since 1963.
According to Paa George, In their time of acting was for fun but nothing translated into financial security. While he has appeared in numerous Kumawood productions and contributed greatly to Ghana’s entertainment industry. he says it was his dream to have his own house but not yet been fulfilled.
Speaking on Max TV, Paa George explained that the struggle has been long and difficult. Living in rented house is one of the difficulty in life especially in Accra.
He added that, the cost of rent is too expensive that you can never save to get your own house in Accra.
The actor noted that many people believe actors are wealthy because they appear on television and in films, but the reality for many Kumawood stars is very different.
According to him, during their time of acting, there’s no income from almost the movies he shot. Therefore making it difficult to plan long-term investments such as building a house.
