Nana Akwesi Omankuminte II, has called on the government and all relevant state institutions to take urgent steps to ensure justice for the late Nana Mebo, the Chief of Borea Ahinfie.
Speaking in an interview, Nana Omankuminte expressed deep concern over the handling of the case, particularly the release of 14 individuals who were initially arrested in connection with the incident by the Krachi West District Court. He stated that the sudden release has raised serious questions within the traditional area and among the people seeking justice for their late chief.
The Paramount Chief urged the authorities to expedite investigations and move the case from the district level to a High Court, where he believes a more thorough and transparent legal process can be ensured. According to him, justice must be handled with utmost fairness and clarity so that the truth can prevail.
Anyone found responsible must face the law, and those who played no role must also be cleared. Justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done,” Nana Omankuminte stressed.
He appealed to the government, security agencies, and the judiciary to demonstrate commitment by ensuring that the family, the traditional council, and the entire community receive the justice they deserve.
