Man assaulted over suspected LGBTQ act in Amasaman, one flees away

A young man has been assaulted while another fled away after the two were allegedly caught engaging in a same sex act at Amasaman in Accra at the night of Friday, January, 20, 2023.

The suspects, identified as Elvis and Kenneth, were reportedly discovered engaging in a suspicious incident at their rented residence in Amasaman Satellite between 11:00 pm and midnight.

The suspects, identified as Elvis Okanta and Kenneth Asare were reportedly discovered engaging in a suspicious incident at their rented residence in Amasaman Satellite between the hours of 11:00 pm and 12:00pm.

According to reports, the incident unfolded when the landlord under the pretext of discussing a utility bill, decided to enter the room unannounced and allegedly caught them in the act.

During the altercation, between the landlord and the alleged “gay practitioner” the situation quickly escalated, drawing attention from nearby resident, but Kenneth tried to escape the scene.

In an attempt to flee, Elvis was allegedly attacked and assaulted by members of the community.
