Mob attacks man accused of being “gay” in kumasi, Breman-NewYork

A man identified as Peniel Appiah has survived a violent mob attack in Breman New York, a community in the Ashanti Region, after residents accused him of engaging in same‑sex relations.

The incident is reported to have begun after Appiah met a man named Eugene Amankwaa at a social gathering.

According to accounts, the two discovered that they shared the same sexual orientation and later continued their conversation at Appiah’s home.

During the encounter, the two reportedly shared a brief kiss at Appiah’s residence that night after realizing they were both of the same sexual orientation.

A resident identified as Charity is said to have witnessed the kiss and reacted strongly, crying out that it was an “abomination.”

The woman is alleged to have spread the news quickly, after which Appiah reportedly became the subject of harassment in the community.

According to further reports, the suspect Appiah was allegedly ambushed and assaulted on Saturday, January 25, 2020 by a group of assailants, sustaining injuries while attempting to flee away.
