Grubi Chachai–Papatia, Oti Region — March 27, 2026
George Kwame Kumah has been officially enstooled as Nana Oquewu Kwame I, Akwanu Hene (sub-chief) of Grubi Chachai–Papatia in the Krachi Nchumuru District of the Oti Region.
The coronation ceremony, held on March 27, 2026, was marked by rich cultural traditions and drew a large gathering of chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, family members, and residents from within and beyond the district. The event featured traditional drumming, dancing, and customary rites, reflecting the heritage and values of the people.
The installation of Nana Oquewu Kwame I forms part of efforts to strengthen traditional leadership and governance within the area. As Akwamu Hene, he is expected to assist the paramount chief and council of elders in maintaining peace, promoting unity, and supporting development initiatives in the community.
In his acceptance speech, Nana Oquewu Kwame I expressed his profound appreciation to the kingmakers and elders for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to uphold the customs and traditions of the land while working diligently to advance the socio-economic development of Grubi Chachai–Papatia.
He further called for unity among the people, stressing the need for collective effort in addressing local challenges and improving livelihoods.
The enstoolment of Nana Oquewu Kwame I is expected to usher in a renewed sense of leadership and progress for the people of Grubi Chachai–Papatia.
